With the Sage Advice ruling, it's almost useless. A useless spell can simply be ignored, while an overpowered one can wreck games, so the Sage Advice solution is an improvement, but not a great one. That was why I proposed a total rewrite in the other thread, changing contagion into a "spread plague among your enemies" spell*.

Feb 25, 2018 · Contagion spell, slimy doom seems OP. No save and you are probably gonna be stunned for 3rds. In 3rds, it can all be over for your boss fight. Then again, it is a 5th level spell, maybe I'm crazy.
Contagion specifically says that it creates a natural disease not a magical disease. As such dispel magic shouldn't remove it. The last line of the spell says "Since this spell induces a natural disease in its target, any effect that removes a disease or otherwise ameliorates a disease’s effects apply to it."

The Circle of the Moon fulfills that Warshaper itch from 3.5e, though not as broken which is personally an upside.
